- We plan to build 'Banja Luka Waterfront' across from the new park, at the confluence of the Vrbanja and Vrbas rivers, said Draško Stanivuković, the mayor of the largest city in Republika Srpska.
Stanivuković explained in an interview for Moja Hercegovina that the idea is still in its early stages.
- This is the first time we are discussing this. Investors who were interested in the Belgrade Waterfront and similar projects in Novi Sad are also interested in 'Banja Luka Waterfront.' This is something that still needs to be discussed.
When asked about the construction of a residential and commercial building alongside the announced park near Delta Planet, the mayor of Banja Luka stated.
- The park will span 180,000 square meters. It will be seven to eight times larger than Mladen Stojanović Park. It won't just be the largest park in Republika Srpska, but the largest in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Alongside the park, covering 18 hectares of land, there will be a street leading to Novi Borik. To the left of the road, as part of the future zoning plan, councilors will decide and discuss what it will be. The idea is to combine the entire area for development next to Banja Luka's field, said Stanivuković.
