In a heartwarming gesture of community support, the Mayor of Banja Luka, Draško Stanivuković, announced that the city will once again sponsor the graduation celebrations for local high school students.
This initiative, launched to coincide with the City Day celebrations, aims to ease the financial burden on families during these festive times.
High school students, including those from the Nikola Tesla Electrotechnical School, welcomed the news. Aleksa Koščica, a student from the school, expressed his appreciation, noting that such gestures make the already memorable event of graduation even more special.
The city administration explained that students need to submit an application along with certain documents to receive a voucher covering the costs.
The voucher distribution will take place on April 25 at the Borik Sports Hall starting at noon.
- This initiative is aimed at making the celebration accessible to all students without financial strain, particularly during a time of rising inflation, commented Bojan Bakal, Director of the Agricultural School. Approximately 80 students from his school are expected to benefit from this scheme.
Ljuban Bajić, President of the High School Directors' Association, also expressed satisfaction with the continuation of free graduations, highlighting the significant relief it provides to parents across the city.
