A residential and business building called Symphony (The Symphony) will be constructed in Olympic Victors Street near the City Stadium and the building of the Radio-Television of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka.
The investor (the same company behind the Cinema Tower
project) announced that the complex will be built "in a cosmopolitan
environment, at the intersection of the city center and the most charming city
park" (Park "Mladen Stojanović").
The investor acquired this land as a replacement for the
parcel of the old "Kozara" cinema.
Preparatory work on the construction of the magnificent building began a few days ago.
Preparatory work on the construction of the
"Cinema Tower" building in Sime Šolaja Street and the eponymous
settlement in the strict center of Banja Luka, a few dozen meters from the
National Theater of Republika Srpska, was suspended in July 2022 when the
Constitutional Court of Republika Srpska adopted a decision accepting the
initiative of residents and declared the regulatory plan of this location
unconstitutional and illegal.
The Mayor of Banja Luka, Draško Stanivuković, stated in
August of last year that a new location for the building was offered to the
company that was supposed to build the skyscraper in the city center near the
former "Kozara" Cinema, and the agreement was later confirmed by the
City Assembly.
The city plans to build a park dedicated to the Treasonous
Process in the place of the former cinema, which will include a summer stage.
