PLANS ANNOUNCED FOR "SEMBERSKA KUĆA" AND ADVENTURE PARK IN BIJELJINA

Tourism in Bijeljina has been on the rise for the fourth consecutive year, driving investments aimed at enriching the city’s offerings for visitors. Among the highlights of the 2025 development plans are the construction of an adventure park and the establishment of "Semberska Kuća," a facility showcasing traditional local products, according to Dragan Tešić, spokesperson for the city’s Tourist Organization.

PLANS ANNOUNCED FOR "SEMBERSKA KUĆA" AND ADVENTURE PARK IN BIJELJINA

Tešić explained that the launch of "Semberska Kuća" is awaiting the selection of an attractive location within the city. Meanwhile, the adventure park is set to be constructed in the Obriježi area, with the conceptual design currently underway.

“The number of overnight stays during the first ten months of last year increased by 1,800 visitors compared to the previous year. We estimate that the total annual figure exceeded 90,000, with the average length of stay per visitor rising from two to 2.4 days,” said Tešić.

He also highlighted that the implementation of the new tourism law in the Republic of Srpska will ease the burden on service providers, leading to increased revenue from the tourist tax. This tax is expected to rise from two to three KM per night in the Bijeljina area.

“With an average full-board cost of 120 KM in Bijeljina, the additional three KM tax will not pose a significant burden,” Tešić assessed.

According to him, Bijeljina’s annual tourism revenue currently stands at approximately 130,000 KM. With the planned increase in the tourist tax, this figure could reach around 200,000 KM, enabling greater investments in the development of tourism across the Semberija region.

Tešić emphasized that Bijeljina’s leading attractions include the Etno-selo Stanišići, followed by Banja Dvorovi, with religious tourism also playing a significant role.

“In addition to the official statistics indicating 90,000 overnight stays, Bijeljina also boasts a robust shopping tourism sector. Unofficial estimates suggest that nearly one million tourists visit Semberija annually for day trips,” noted the spokesperson for the Tourist Organization.
