The Medical Students’ Organization “SaMSIC” is once again organizing the “Health Fair” with the goal of raising public awareness about the importance of preventive health check-ups and highlighting the value of people who preserve and nurture our culture.
At the Banja Luka Youth Center on Friday, October 31, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about various aspects of maintaining and improving health through a rich program of events and activities. On-site, attendees will be able to consult with medical professionals from different fields and receive free preventive examinations.
This year, the future doctors behind the “Health Fair” are taking things a step further. On Saturday, November 1, in cooperation with a team of doctors and medical experts, they will organize free preventive examinations for all employees of the National Theatre of the Republic of Srpska. Theatre staff will have access to dermatological and internal medicine examinations, as well as consultations with a urologist and gynecologist. In addition, SaMSIC volunteers will measure blood glucose levels, body mass index, mineral status, blood pressure, and other parameters typically included in a general medical check-up.
“We came up with this unique idea during a visit to the National Theatre of the Republic of Srpska, where we had a wonderful and inspiring experience. We wanted to give something back to the people who safeguard our culture, and we believe this is the perfect way to do it,” said Kristina Milošević, fair organizer and national coordinator of the organization.
