FIVE TOURIST DESTINATIONS IN BiH AMONG THE 100 BEST IN THE WORLD
Five tourist destinations from Bosnia and Herzegovina have been ranked among the 100 best in the world for their efforts in sustainable tourism development as part of the "EU for Business Recovery" (U4Business Recovery) project.
The destinations include Trebinje, Konjic, and the Tišina Protected Area in the Municipality of Šamac in the category of destination management. In the category of nature and environment, the Skakavac Nature Monument in Sarajevo was recognized, and in the advanced community category, Bosanska Krupa was selected.
These BiH destinations were chosen among the top 100 at the leading global event "Green Destinations - Top 100 Stories", which was held last week in Tallinn. This year, a total of 165 applications were evaluated by experts, partners, and coordinators from the Green Destinations team. The EU for Business Recovery project is co-financed by the EU and the German Government.
Project partners include experts from the company Green Vision Ecotours, who were tasked with preparing BiH destinations for the green certification process, according to the statement from the Boram agency.
The ninth edition of the event in Tallinn created, as noted, an inspiring collection of success stories from sustainable destinations around the world.
At the awards conference, it was emphasized that this good practice will be shared with destination managers, tour operators, and visitors globally to facilitate knowledge exchange in the tourism sector.
The destination management organizations ranked among the top 100 in the world serve as examples of how they addressed the challenges and issues of sustainable tourism, the statement concludes.
