Although spring has officially arrived, some regions of Srpska woke up under a white blanket. Snow was observed on the mountain passes of Čemerno, near Gacko, and on Mount Borja.
According to meteorological data, temperatures in the area dropped below freezing on Sunday morning. Although the snow cover was thinner, it was enough to give Čemerno pass a wintery appearance once again.
Drivers traveling through this stretch are advised to exercise caution, as the roads at higher altitudes are occasionally wet and slippery.
The Republic Hydrometeorological Institute reports that today will be significantly colder, with windy, cloudy weather and precipitation expected.
April snow in Herzegovina is not an everyday occurrence, but it’s not a rarity either, especially on mountain passes like Čemerno, which often greets and bids farewell to winter first.
Sunday morning also brought snow to the mountain pass of Borja, located between Teslić and Kotor Varoš.
