It has long been known that our country is rich in stunning natural beauty that leaves you breathless, and one such gem is the Sušica River near Trebinje.
Sušica is a tributary of the Trebišnjica River and flows about 15 km east of the southernmost city in the Republic of Srpska.
With its incredibly clear, emerald-green waters rich in fish, it is a perfect spot for fishing enthusiasts and swimmers alike.
Along the river lies a historical site, the mystical Roman Bridge of Vučija, as well as natural swimming areas and a campsite for nature lovers.
The Vučija Bridge is believed to have been built in the 13th century, along with the nearby Vrmske Towers, on the site of an ancient Roman road that once led from Dubrovnik to Montenegro.
The bridge connects two steep banks of the river, built from hewn stone, with its upper arches made of travertine.
