RESIDENTS OF KOTOR VAROŠ RALLY TO DEFEND DUBOKA RIVER

In Duboka, a gathering of Kotor Varoš residents voiced their opposition to the construction of a small hydroelectric power plant on the Duboka River.

Joined by representatives from the Coalition for Duboka Protection, the Environmental Center, the Mountaineering Society "Mehanizam," and the Kotor Varoš Sports Fishing Association, locals in the Grabovica community emphasized their stance against the project.

Tomo Dubočanin, President of the Coalition for Duboka Protection, stated that coalition members have initiated numerous legal proceedings to revoke the documentation issued to the investor for the construction of the mini power plant.

- Duboka, as it stands now, has been remembered by our fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers. We will not betray them, Dubočanin affirmed.

The Duboka River canyon boasts a renowned series of waterfalls, with Skakavac being the most exquisite among them. Tourists and nature enthusiasts frequent this location daily, considering it a gem of unspoiled nature.
