Preparations for the opening of Hilton hotels in Mostar and Sarajevo are progressing despite numerous challenges. The highly anticipated Hotel Neretva Mostar, part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, is set to become the first Hilton in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with its opening planned for early 2026, according to Halim Zukić, owner of Interšped Sarajevo, the company holding the franchise.
“Despite challenges related to scaffolding on public property, construction work at Hotel Neretva Mostar is ongoing. Facade work is nearing completion, and the model room is ready. We are confident in meeting the early 2026 opening timeline,” Zukić stated.
Regarding the Hampton by Hilton Sarajevo City Centre hotel, construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2026. “However, based on our previous experiences, delays are possible due to the complexities of bureaucratic procedures,” Zukić added, as reported by BiznisInfo.ba.
The franchise agreement, marking the entry of the international Hilton hotel chain into Bosnia and Herzegovina, was signed in May 2023 at the Waldorf Astoria in Berlin.
The Hotel Neretva Mostar, located on the banks of the Neretva River, just minutes from UNESCO World Heritage sites, will feature 80 rooms, multiple restaurants, a spectacular terrace, an indoor pool, and other premium amenities.
Meanwhile, the Hampton by Hilton Sarajevo City Centre, boasting 98 rooms with a sleek and modern design, will be located in the heart of Sarajevo on Maršala Tita Street, near the site of the former McDonald’s.
Hilton is a global leader in hospitality, with a portfolio of 19 world-class brands, over 7,100 properties, and more than 1.1 million rooms in 123 countries and territories. The company has served over three billion guests to date.
The arrival of Hilton hotels is expected to enhance Bosnia and Herzegovina's growing tourism industry, which continues to attract increasing numbers of visitors year after year.
