The documentary film “Guardians of Tradition” by director Miloš Vasiljević was presented to the audience in Banja Luka, marking another emotional celebration of culture and heritage after its premiere in Gacko.
“I am truly happy that we had the opportunity to show this film to the Banja Luka audience. After the premiere in Gacko, where we celebrated 30 years of the Cultural and Artistic Society ‘Zelengora’ Gacko, this evening turned into a touching encounter between the past and the present,” said Vasiljević in an interview for SeeSrpska following the screening at Kuća Milanovića.
The film intertwines memories, recollections, and dreams of many generations who, through their dedication and love, built the story of the society — turning it into a true guardian of tradition and an inseparable part of the community’s cultural identity.
“This is a story about cultural memory, history, and customs of the Herzegovina region. The most important thing is that KUD Zelengora is one big family. They have represented our Gacko more than 40 times outside the country. Although we come from a small place, we proudly present great works — and through this film, they become unforgettable,” Vasiljević emphasized.
The screening was met with enthusiasm — the hall was packed, and a warm, positive energy filled the air.
“I came all the way from Kozarska Dubica for this premiere. My granddaughter brought me, and I’m so grateful to her. It was a beautiful evening and a wonderful film,” said one attendee.
Young viewers from Banja Luka also shared their impressions.
“The film is excellent — it truly holds your attention. The shots are beautifully done, and you can tell the team paid attention to every single detail,” concluded one young woman from Banja Luka.
