In order to ensure more efficient maintenance and improvement of children’s playgrounds throughout the city, a decision was made today at a meeting in the City Administration for the Public Institution “Dom mladih Trebinje” to take an active role in regularly monitoring the condition of all playgrounds.
This initiative will be carried out in cooperation with the Department for Communal and Inspection Affairs, the Department for Youth and Sports, and the Department for General Administration, as well as in coordination with city services, including local communities, the Public Institution “Ecology and Safety,” and volunteer fire departments.
The decision was adopted in response to the growing number of newly built playgrounds—currently 41—and the increasing need for additional efforts to maintain and improve them.
According to Mayor Mirko Ćurić, the goal is to strengthen the system of care for public spaces intended for the youngest citizens, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment for children’s play and social activities.
Citizens can report any observed irregularities to the Department for Youth and Sports of the City of Trebinje via email at djecijaigralista@trebinje.rs.ba or by phone at 059/273-460. Reports can also be submitted to the Public Institution “Dom mladih” via email at djecijaigralista@gmail.com or by phone at 059/225-531.
The City of Trebinje will also consider options for improving lighting in areas where necessary and installing video surveillance systems to enhance safety and protection at playgrounds.
The City Administration invites all citizens to take part in preserving and maintaining playgrounds and to report any irregularities.
All suggestions, observations, and information are of great importance for creating better conditions for play, recreation, and the healthy development of our youngest citizens, the City Administration stated.
