"Dear students, citizens of Serbia, brothers and sisters, all of you who will be on the streets of Belgrade on March 15, fighting for justice and truth, persistently, decisively, and unwaveringly, but in a dignified, non-violent, and peaceful way – take care of yourselves and take care of each other, because if you don't do it, no one else will do it for you," Bishop Grigorije said.
"It is equally important to take care of those whose political beliefs and views you do not share, and who may and likely will be exploited and abused to tarnish your peaceful and dignified struggle," he added through the social media platform Instagram.
He mentioned that "the way in which the students are fighting to have their demands met is amazing and worthy of all respect."
"That way is honorable, dignified, non-violent, and guided by the highest human and moral principles. Although they are just at the beginning of their lives, they are teaching all of us, including those much older, how to be persistent, how not to give up and not to falter, how to be incorruptible, honorable, and dignified, even when it is the hardest," he said.
He stated that the students who are peacefully protesting are "the best thing the nation has produced."
"They are our moral compass, our hope, and undoubtedly a testimony that as a nation, we still have a chance," Bishop Grigorije said.
He also emphasized that "we all must do our best to ensure that no one tarnishes this noble struggle."
